Loosely based on the romantic novel Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern, Love, Rosie is a romantic comedy drama starring Lily Collins and Sam Claflin as childhood friends Rosie and Alex. The film revolves around the ups and downs of their relationship ever since they were in the age of five and how the next years progressed between them as friends.
The film starts on Rosieâ€™s 18th birthday and then focuses on the events that happened afterwards. After years of friendship, it has started to dawn upon Alex and Rosie the developing romantic affection towards each other, their childhood friend. But Rosie, drunk and frustrated was left with Greg, a guy from their grade, to whom she was attracted to, causing her to commit sexual relationship with him.
After getting accepted to a hotel management course at Boston University, Rosie decided to bring the news to Alex but was left to find him with another girl, and soon, she also discovers that she is pregnant with Gregâ€™s child. Alex and Rosie then parted ways without Alex knowing of Rosieâ€™s condition and without acknowledging both of their affection for each other. Years passed and while they kept in touch, there were countless of instances where they were given a chance to admit their feelings but let the chance pass away.
As the years go on, Rosie found herself singlehandedly taking care of her daughter Katie, and was now assigned to give a speech as the â€˜best manâ€™ to Alexâ€™s wedding. Leaving either two of them to left their feelings unprofessed unless they decided to be the braver person, and confess their deep-seated feelings.
