Watch The Imitation Game online and witness a movie that is based on a true story. It was in 1939 when the MI6 British Intelligence group gets mathematics genius Alan Turing. He was commissioned to solve Nazi codes which include one of the most difficult codes to break, the Enigma. Turing had a team which include Joan Clarke who helped him further analyze the messages of the Enigma code through a machine he built in uncovering them.
The machine was called Christopher but Turing still had difficulty unlocking the Enigma settings with the Germans doing an encryption reset each and every new day. His commanding officer Alistair Denniston ordered the destruction of the machine and got him fired. However, the rest of the code genius’ team threatened to leave as well if Turing’s dismissal from work will push through.
Turing later on discovers that one of his members of the team Cairncross is actually a spy of the Soviet. When he confronted him, Cairncross blackmailed Turing that he will expose the mathematician’s true identity of being a homosexual. Despite of the threats, Turing still revealed Cairncross being a spy.
He told Clarke who eventually became his wife to leave for her own safety and admitted his true gender identity. They broke up but she later on reconciled as Turing faced his jail sentence for indecency. Clarke becomes witness of Turing’s eventual deterioration in terms of mind and body.
It was revealed later on that Turing killed himself. He was 41. It was revealed in one of the captions in the set of documents that the group was shown firing up in the end.
